Projects

The Center for Agroecology and Regeneration for the Semi-Arid (CARES) regenerates semi-arid ecosystems while producing food and know-how that contributes to the territory’s food sovereignty.

More than a restaurant, PREC is a local Food Hub serving seasonal, plant based meals, for the local community and visitors, and a shop that sells conscious products from the territory.

This project transformed acacia and eucalyptus monocultures, into native, biodiverse forests, using successional agroforestry techniques.

This extracurricular program is being rolled out in five schools in Mértola. Children are invited to tend to a syntropic farm, gaining a new perspective of nature and their territory.

This project focuses on the local food system, encouraging supply and demand of seasonal products, with a preference for organic and regenerative practices.

This  intergenerational program promotes activities in 9 different Senior University Hubs in Mértola, with a focus on connecting people with their territory, while tending to agroforestry gardens.

This project builds connections between agriculture, tourism, food and the local community, by hosting activities with a diversity of actors.
