'Terra de Abrigo' is a project that welcomes Afghan refugees, peace activists and human rights activists. It offers a multidimensional reception model, with a view to developing and consolidating personal and social skills for autonomy, while ensuring possibilities for professional integration and belonging to the territory.
The Terra de Abrigo project is the result of a strategic protocol between the Terra Sintrópica Association, the High Commissioner for Migration (ACM), the Mértola City Council, the Mértola Parish Council and the international organization Permaculture for Refugees, with the international support of the FOR organization, Edmund Rice Center, World Beyond War, Quakers Australia, and many other private and institutional donors.
The proposed multidimensional reception model includes the 'Bolsa de Terras - Regenerar Mértola' training program, as well as eco-social, cultural, legal, financial, personal and professional support.
