Tui field to fork: Regenerative Alentejo
Towards a territorial food basin
A TUI Field to Fork Project
TUI Field to Fork Portugal: Regenerative Alentejo is an initiative that strengthens the ongoing regeneration process in the Baixo Alentejo region by integrating agriculture, food, tourism, and community as interconnected pillars of social and ecological transformation.
The project promotes a more resilient, creative, and innovative region, where well-being, empowerment, and the active participation of residents and visitors go hand in hand. In the agricultural sector, a Community of Practice is being developed until June 2027 that brings together individuals and organizations developing regenerative initiatives. This process is guided by “lighthouse farms,” which encompass approximately 4,000 hectares under regeneration processes.
Communities that regenerate
In the area of food, ESDIME will organize immersive regenerative gastronomy tours (ESDIME) and training programs focused on transforming food systems (Regenerate the Future Cooperative). In tourism and entrepreneurship, the project develops a Learning Journey for Regenerative Tourism, supporting the transition of businesses based on models that generate economic, social, ecological, and inspirational value.
Moreover, the project promotes several community-building moments where shared meals become a starting point for discussing and acting upon the common challenges of the future.
